Quick FAQ
Dozio plays even when my phone is on silent. Is that intentional?
Yes. Sleep apps need to play through the ringer switch, the same way Spotify or Apple Music do. We configured the audio session so a muted ringer doesn't silence the scene. If you want to mute Dozio, use the volume buttons or pull the layer sliders down.
Why is the sleep timer always on?
Letting the audio run all night would silently drain your battery. The default 15-minute timer covers the typical time-to-fall-asleep. You can switch to 30 or 60 minutes, or tap "Watch ad to play unlimited" to remove the cap for one session. Premium will unlock unlimited playback without ads when it launches.
How does "Watch ad to play unlimited" work?
It's a Google AdMob rewarded video — usually 15–30 seconds long. Once you watch it through, the auto-stop timer is cancelled for the current session and the scene will keep playing until you pause it manually or the app is killed. The next time you enter the player, the 15-minute default returns.
The sound stops when the screen turns off (Android)
Some Android phones aggressively kill background audio to save battery. To keep Dozio playing while the screen is off:
- Open Settings → Apps → Dozio → Battery.
- Set Battery usage to Unrestricted.
- On Samsung devices, also disable Settings → Device care → Battery → Background usage limits → Sleeping apps for Dozio.
The sound stops when I switch apps (iOS)
Dozio is configured for background audio, so this shouldn't happen. If it does:
- Make sure no other audio app is grabbing focus. Pausing Spotify or YouTube and re-tapping Play on Dozio usually fixes it.
- Tap the Dozio icon in the App Switcher to come back — playback should resume automatically.
- Restart the phone if the issue persists, then email us with the device model and iOS version.
I don't see media controls on my lock screen
Lock-screen media controls appear after a scene starts playing. If they don't:
- Make sure the scene is actually playing (the Play button should show "Pause").
- Pull down the notification shade — the media tile appears there too.
- On Android 13+, grant notification permission when prompted.
The bedtime reminder doesn't fire
- Toggle the reminder off and on once in Settings — this re-schedules it.
- Check that notification permission is granted (Android 13+ and iOS both ask on first toggle).
- On Android, disable battery optimization for Dozio (see the section above).
- On iOS, check Settings → Notifications → Dozio is set to "Allow Notifications".
What languages does Dozio support?
English, Korean (한국어), and Japanese (日本語) at launch. The language is picked up from your device language on first run, and you can switch it any time in Settings → Language.
How do I download a scene for offline use?
Offline downloads are a premium feature and not active in the soft-launch build. When premium is available, the download button will appear on each scene's player screen.
How much does Dozio cost?
The current build is fully free with all eight scenes unlocked. We're verifying that the experience earns trust before offering Premium. Pricing will be announced when Premium launches — our intention is a single yearly option and a one-time lifetime option, no subscription jail.
Is there an iPhone version?
Yes. Dozio runs on iOS 13 and later. The first iOS release ships alongside or shortly after the Android public launch.
